Building Permits
If you are planning to construct, remodel, alter, or add to a building or structure in the Town of Lincoln, a building permit may be required before work begins.
The Town of Lincoln falls under Vilas County zoning, so building projects must comply with applicable Vilas County zoning requirements and regulations. Property owners are encouraged to contact Vilas County Zoning before beginning a project to determine whether a zoning permit, building permit, or other approvals are required.
If your proposed project does not meet the applicable zoning requirements and a variance is needed, the variance must go through the appropriate review and approval process. A variance must be approved by the Town Board before the project can proceed, when Town Board approval is required.
